Job Description

The Senior Product Manager of Biometric Security, Authentication & Fraud Prevention provides management direction, leadership and overall accountability for Nuance’s biometric product line.  This position shapes product strategy while also ensuring timely and efficient execution on roadmap.  The leader will have a passion for biometric and security technology, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and matrixed environment.

This candidate will manage the Security Product Management Team while working in close collaboration with the go-to-market, sales, marketing, professional services and engineering colleagues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Formulate and communicate product plan & vision: Drive a multi-year product plan detailing both short term and long term strategy that will support continued growth of Nuance’s security business.
  • Effectively manage a team of highly experienced Global product managers to ensure timely, efficient and precise execution of product plan.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing customers to understand current and future business and technology requirements.
  • Manage product life cycle for security product line, from ideation to end-of-life.
  • Collaborate with key internal constituents to ensure alignment cross-functional alignment with product vision.
  • Track market, competitive and technology landscape to ensure Nuance continues to lead market in innovation and value.
  • Support sales organization with direct customer communication of Nuance’s security vision & product leadership.
  • Support marketing & public relations initiatives to effectively evangelize product vision externally.
  • Assess technology partnership that can enhance Nuance’s Security capabilities.
  • Report on product performance to ensure that investments in innovations deliver on agreed upon KPIs.



Desired Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will be of exceptional intellect and strategic acumen with an ability to synthesize disparate insights into implications and recommendations to drive growth in alignment within the organization.  He/she will be highly innovative regarding solutions development, strategic positioning, acquisitions and display a high sense of urgency and a demonstrated ability to drive to big outcomes through ambiguity.  This individual will be able to take ambiguity and structure it so that progress happens.  A motivator, influencer and proactive leader who can inspire others to follow his/her lead; an open-minded facilitator and excellent listener.

  • Typically has 12 to 15 years of experience in managing complex product lines and/or projects.
  • Technology Expertise: Biometrics, authentication security, fraud prevention, audio and video processing, contact center infrastructure and web & mobile security.
  • Strong Project Management skills and attention to detail. Top-notch problem-solving skills a must.
  • Excellent time management, communication, decision making, presentation and organization skills.
  • Very strong, analytical, technical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively handle multiple situations, manage priorities.
  • Display a strong desire to achieve and attain high levels of both internal and external customer satisfaction.
  • Must portray high levels of professionalism, appearance, motivation, and positive attitude in all endeavors.

From an educational perspective, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or related field required, however a Master’s Degree as well is preferred; it must be understood, however, that education, while an important index of achievement and intellectual capacity, will not constitute the primary variable in this decision process.  Personal characteristics and demonstrated business accomplishment in information technology, and specifically with biometric security technologies, will serve as the key components in the evaluation of candidates.
