Job Summary

As a NLP Research Scienitist in natural language understanding (NLU) you will assist in all aspects of planning, developing and maintaining high-quality NLU systems for our customers. Your responsibilities also include new feature development, accuracy improvement, project maintenance, and language-targeted research for improvements.

 

Location: Work in offices in Montreal (Canada) or Chengdu (China) preferred (company will arrange immigration and relocation as necessary).  

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development of the NLU pipeline
  • Development of new features in NLU
  • NLU accuracy improvements
  • Responding to QA and customer-reported issues
  • Accuracy checking of annotations
  • Contribute to team effort to improvement of entire NLU system

Qualifications

  • Experience in natural language processing (NLP) 
  • Programming skills (especially scripting to support research experiments)
  • Excellent English skills as this is the working language 
  • Native or near-native speaking and writing skills in French, Italian, Spanish or Portuguese

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in natural language understanding / information extraction
  • Machine learning expertise
  • Python
  • Java

Education: Masters in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics or related field (or similar work experience)
