Job Summary

Located in Burlington, Massachusetts, the Senior Director, HR Business Partner will report to the Vice President, Global Human Resources. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for strategic human resource activities within Nuance.

 

This role exists to ensure that the division’s HR function is well organized and operates in a way that is most effective for the division, particularly by providing managers with the appropriate support to run their businesses efficiently and build high performance teams. The HRBP will need to quickly build strong relationships throughout the organization and gain the confidence and commitment of the business and HR community.

 

Responsiblities:

 

  • Consults with senior management on organizational/business issues, including change management, talent, culture, team functioning and leadership effectiveness.
  • Develops a divisional talent strategy with senior management based on the business strategy and aligned with corporate talent management planning.
  • Develops strategic workforce plans that are aligned with business strategies and objectives.
  • Continuously assesses the organization and targets organization development, leadership development, and team development efforts to improve organizational functioning.
  • Develops and/or implements company-wide policies, programs, and initiatives (e.g. talent assessments/succession planning, reward programs) for assigned division.
  • Contributes to and actively participates in the success of assigned division.
  • Delivers services that address division challenges related to business alignment, organization effectiveness, and leadership capability. Collaborates across the HR function to effectively leverage in-house expertise in aid of solving issues.
  • Supports merger and acquisition activities, including integration and assimilation, as required.
  • Collaborates with regional HR to address country-specific needs, as required.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Number of Years of Work Experience:  Experience with a large corporation in multiple HR roles over the past 15+ years; experience in both corporate HR functions and global generalist organizations; enterprise software and/or technology company experience strongly preferred.

  • An independent, confident demeanor and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth technology environment whose characteristics include both a “start-up” entrepreneurial culture and management of large, established businesses.
  • Exceptional influencing, consulting, and networking skills; strong strategic skills.
  • Strong business acumen, creativity, and tolerance for ambiguity.
  • Ability to identify, support, and drive change throughout the company as it continues to refine its business model, working closely with the business unit senior leadership and their direct staff to build an organization through best practices.
  • Ability to travel 10-15%.
  • Desire to be an outstanding team player – cross-cultural understanding is important.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills; unquestionable integrity.
  • Good judgment and fact-based decision making. 

Education: BA or equivalent required.
