Job Summary



At Nuance Communications, we design and deliver technologies and services that intuitively link man, machine and the global storehouse of knowledge to help companies and consumers work seamlessly and intelligently with the world.  The Senior Business Development Executive works collaboratively with the PTP Sales and Operations teams and with the Nuance Sales team to grow existing business and to identify and secure new sales.




The ideal candidate lives and is Responsible for an assigned territory in The WESTERN REGION of USA. ....named accounts selling the portfolio of Physician Technical Partners solutions into hospital settings with a key focus on new account development and expansion within existing accounts. The Senior Business Development Executive, reports to the VP of Sales and must have knowledge of the Healthcare industry and Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms- ideally EPIC.  Direct experience in the clinical setting, experience with EHR platforms on a clinical or technical basis, and/or prior experience is desired. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills, computer skills, emerging technology skills, and deductive reasoning skills.  The position requires a result-driven individual who has a high level of professionalism - consistent with PTP culture. 



  • Responsibilities include developing prospects through obtaining an understanding of organizations’ clinical documentation plans and Electronic Medical Record / Electronic Health Record deployment, managing strategic selling opportunities, problem solving, presenting managed services and software solutions alongside a return on investment and closing sales while exceeding quota.
  • Must be able to meet account / territory coverage requirements assigned, develop and implement key account plans and develop/implement a strategic business plan for the territory assigned. Must be able to work with partners and resellers as appropriate.
  • Participate in sales processes, including scheduling meetings, producing agendas and presentations, and drafting work orders and agreements
  • Develop contracts with clients while avoiding legal challenges by understanding current legislation and regulations governing PTP business models and, with PTP managerial support, recommend new procedures and/or models to comply with changes
  • Update and maintain sales records and reports in
  • Monitor the status and relationship of active accounts, and report any potential problems directly to PTP sales and corporate management
  • Working with other PTP /Nuance departments/service lines to develop opportunities for PTP service lines
  • Communicate with the recruiting department to support their efforts to manage and fill resource opportunities
  • Maintain state of the art PTP business and marketing knowledge by participating in educational programs, reading pertinent publications/blogs, and establishing, maintaining and cultivating professional networks
  • Contact and work with third party vendors as required
  • Participate in establishing company business processes by understanding PTP’s business goals and objectives
  • Develop the technical and relationship skills to perform assessments, onsite or remotely, for all PTP Service Lines (Epic Go-Live, MyChart Help Desk, Training, Smart Library, etc.)
  • Communicate regularly with PTP sales / operations team to offer suggestions and discuss needs

Requirements :


  • 5 plus years experience selling EMR/EHR into hospitals
  • Ability to achieve quota year over year
  • Position will require 50% travel to customers for meetings and demos
  • College Degree Preferred
