Job Summary

As a Software Developer in Test on the Nuance R&D Print team, you will work with a broad range of technologies to enhance the product and the platform.  As part of an Agile scrum team, you will focus on the creation of test procedures, automation frameworks and automated test cases to ensure quality document accounting, printing, and scanning solutions.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • As part of an Agile scrum team, you will plan, develop, and execute tests against software and hardware products using a variety of manual and automated test tools to ensure user story acceptance criteria has been met.
  • Work with the development team to ensure all requirements have been tested, defects have been identified and documented, impacts have been assessed, and resolutions provided.
  • Create and maintain test documentation such as test plans, defect reports and test result summaries.
  • Interact with team members and other groups to troubleshoot and resolve quality defects and issues identified during the testing process and post-release of the product.
  • Communicate product and process information to other members of the team, other departments, and customers as necessary.

 

Number of Years of Work Experience: 2+ years in a software quality or development function with emphasis on test automation.

 

Required Skills: 

  • Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of enterprise server and client applications on Microsoft Windows in virtual environment.
  • Working experience in software testing for enterprise system consisting of distributed server components, database server clients, WebUI, and supported HW devices.
  • Working experience in developing test automation scripts for functional testing.
  • Working experience in an Agile environment for fast-paced software development and testing release cycle.
  • Strong trouble-shooting skills to identify root cause and narrow down issues.
  • Experience with continuous integration, build and release automation, automated test suites.
  • Demonstrated ability to "think outside the box" when creating and executing test plans.
  • Experience writing testable code and high-quality unit tests.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience using virtualization (VMWare, Hyper-V, VirtualBox).
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git or Perforce.
  • Experience in C# or C++.
  • Experience testing network applications, TCP/IP communications, HTTP, REST, SOAP using tools such as Postman.
  • Knowledge of CI tools such as Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, etc.

Education: University degree in a related technical field, College Computer Programming Diploma.
