Job Summary

The Communications Specialist will be responsible for supporting core communications programs for Nuance as well as its four divisions. Working with all members of the Corporate Communications team, the Communications Specialist will serve as the department’s internal news desk, manage internal and external PR reporting, support analyst relations programs, and assist the team with writing projects for both internal and external audiences. The Communications Specialist will also support special projects and research initiatives for the team, as well as speaking and awards programs.




  • Support Corporate Communications projects and programs for Nuance and its four divisions: Mobile, Enterprise, Healthcare and Imaging
  • Serve as the Corporate Communications team’s internal news desk – compile and share Industry news and trends and potential opportunities for Nuance to engage
  • Manage internal and external PR reporting – share news coverage with internal stakeholders; upload articles to The Voice (Nuance intranet), employee advocacy platform, and; spearhead campaign and quarterly reporting; manage media monitoring platform and optimize share of voice reporting
  • Support Analyst Relations programs by identifying key analysts, firms, and research threads and assisting with scheduling briefings and events to form tighter relationships and build mindshare with the analyst community
  • Assist in writing projects, from drafting press releases, media alerts, and blog content, to socializing internally for feedback and approvals, to managing distribution online and over wire services
  • Assist in drafting divisional internal communications
  • Work closely with external agency resources to manage speaking and awards programs
  • Serve as internal resource for research initiatives
  • Manage meeting agendas and recaps for Corporate Communications team



Number of Years of Work Experience: 2-3


Required Skills:

  • Prior communications/public relations experience
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Organization and attention to detail; time management
  • Comfort with online research and social media

Preferred Skills:

  •  PR agency experience preferred

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in communications, public relations or related field
