Job Summary

Nuance’s Communication Service Providers (CSP) business unit is focused on enabling carriers to generate and grow revenue via subscription or other value added services mechanisms.  Our mission is simple - to help mobile consumers easily subscribe to a service or to buy the best offer at the best time from their CSP.

 

As Principal Sales Engineer for Middle East & Africa, you will work closely with Nuance’s Sales organization to cultivate new business opportunities with CSPs, be the technical account manager and use your CSP experience to capture and document the technical requirements.  You will work closely with Nuance’s distributed organization including Product Management, Product Marketing, R&D, and management teams. 

 

The Sales Engineering role requires strong communication skills and CSP experience.

 

Scope

Responsible for technical sales support across sub-Saharan Africa for Nuance’s CSP solutions including:

  • Mobile Messaging,
  • Mobile Financial Services,
  • Mobile Marketing, and
  • Content discovery

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Understand and clearly articulate in presentations to customers the value proposition of the Nuance solutions from a technical perspective, including capabilities of underlying technologies and competitive advantages.
  • Understand customers’ business requirements and how the technical aspects of the solution meet those requirements.
  • Identify customer pain points, existing technology environment and relevant integration points, technical risks and challenges, and solution requirements through a technical discovery process.
  • Work with Solution Architecture, Product Management, Marketing, and Professional Services teams to craft and own a solution description relevant to a customer opportunity, and communicate the details and value of that solution to customer in support of the overall sales proposal process
  • Work with CSP Sales Executive to support opportunity qualification, account plan and sales strategy development, and execution of contract process to deliver Bookings and Revenue against regional plan,
  • Build and maintain relationships with key technical and product stakeholders within strategic accounts, both pre- and post-sale, in support of long-term account development strategy. Facilitate periodic technical education and customer feedback sessions with these key customer stakeholders.
  • Feed back into Product Management and Product Marketing observed technical trends and forward-looking customer initiatives seen in the field in support of future product/solution enhancements and priorities
  • Present product demonstrations for customers / partners,
  • Host and participate in regular international conference calls with Product Management, R&D, others to track the status for on-going projects and pre-sales activities.

 

 

Qualifications

  • MS or BS in Engineering, Computer Science, or related Technical Degree,
  • 8+ years experience in a CSP or CSP vendor,
  • Experience with integration requirements for CSP systems including signaling, billing, provisioning, and other business and operational systems,
  • Presales experience or experience in customer facing roles,
  • Familiarity with the Sales Engineering process in a software company,
  • Comfortable in making presentations and speaking to an audience,
  • Native/near Native English written and spoken communication skills,
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
