    Job Summary

    Nuance Communications, is the market leader in providing Speech Recoginition and Response Technology to the Healthcare Industry.  Accurately captures and transform the patient story into meaningful, actionable solution.  Nuance speech-enabled clinical documentation and analytics solutions to facilitate smarter, more efficient decisions across the healthcare enterprise.  The HIM R&D group, comprising over 150 people in multiple development locations worldwide, requires an Architect to Automate our Quality Cloud environment.

     

    This person will lead in Architecting the QA Test Automation evnironment and work with senior management in business requirements meetings and executions. 

     

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

     

    • Responsible for defining and driving a test automation and performance testing strategy that will be followed across the Department by all teams.
    • Design automation and performance architecture for applications that cross multiple solutions and technologies such as UI (.Net, Java, HTML/JavaScript), REST API, Message Queue (JMS) and Indexing (SOLR).
    • Work with team members to aid in setting the direction and development of test tools for high-use complex applications.
    • Represent Quality in business requirements meetings.
    • Analyze, design and develop test data creation and management strategy.
    • Define and execute the performance and load testing strategy.
    • Provide mentorship, coordination and guidance for test engineers.
    • Perform peer design and code review for test scripts.
    • Work with the support organization to enhance testing practices in the future.
    • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure

     

    Required Skills and Experience:

     

    • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in software quality assurance.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role in automated testing for complex, high performance enterprise application.
    • A working knowledge of various test automation tools is essential.
    • Clear understanding of the Agile principles and experience in working on complex projects following Agile methodology.
    • Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle methodologies
    • Strong understanding of testing practices across the SDLC, including unit, functional, performance, penetration and regression testing.
    • Ability to define and evangelize the automated software testing strategy, socialize it across the organization and work with individual teams to implement the plan.
    • Ability to compare various methodologies as it relates to software testing and provide guidance in a clear and concise fashion.
    • Ability to work with multiple teams and obtain buy-ins where required and flexible enough to adapt to changing requirements while working on initiatives.
    • Experience in performance and load testing tools and methodologies.
    • Familiarity with common security concerns in enterprise applications.
    • Knowledge in automated security tools.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience in working individually and with a set of engineers across the division.
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction.
    • Desire to learn new technologies and processes.

    Preferred Skills:

     

    • Experience in the health IT sector.

    Education:

     

    • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
