Job Summary

Exciting opportunity to join a dynamic legal team to act as a Senior Negotiator for our Enterprise business in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America.

You will be part of a multi-national global legal team in an exciting, fast paced, innovative and dynamic environment. Your focus will be on supporting sales transactions involving cutting edge technology solutions. You will negotiate a very diverse range of complex software and professional services agreements relating to our Enterprise Business Division.

 

This role gives the option to work from home on occasion.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Act as senior lead negotiator for the company supporting Nuance’s Enterprise business division in Europe/Middle East/Africa and Latin America in direct interaction with customers’ procurement executives and legal departments to ensure that negotiations are conducted in an efficient manner to retain maximum value for Nuance and consistency with company standards and precedent.
  • Lead rapid framing of license transactions and negotiation strategy, working with Sales, Finance and senior management, and drive internal approvals. 
  • Review and draft software license and services agreements in English language and rapidly resolve contract issues in a manner that is reasonable for Nuance and the customer. 
  • Ensure that senior management and internal forecasting and contract management systems remain updated on commercial contracts’ status and deal terms.
  • Provide legal training to the sales team in EMEA and LATAM.
  • Occasional (but not frequent) travel will be required.

 

Knowledge, skills and qualifications:

 

Education: Fully qualified attorney (1st and 2nd state exam) with strong experience of working within a technology environment.

 

 

Required skills:

  • Extensive experience in practicing law in the technology field.
  • Experience with working in an international corporate environment.
  • Fluency in English (orally and in writing) and extensive experience of drafting and negotiating agreements in English language is essential. Knowledge of at least one other language, particularly German, Spanish and Portuguese is highly desirable.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and able to manage multiple contract requests/deals in parallel and cope with tight deadlines. 
  • Solution oriented, proactive, flexible and able to turn contract requests around quickly. 
  • Strong experience of working closely with sales teams. 
  • Team player with flexible, pragmatic approach and “deal closing” ability and a strong ability to collaborate with other members of the global legal team and manage external counsel.
  • Willingness to work in different time zones.
  • Strong cultural awareness of working with international clients and colleagues in EMEA and LATAM.
