Job Summary

This position is a technical leadership role within the Infrastructure Engineering team.  The Telecom Engineer will be expected to make technical decisions, diagnose and prevent problems, and provide input and guidance for the ongoing roadmap for our Telephony environments.  The position will require a high level of technical expertise in Telecommunication technologies.


  • Provide deep subject matter expertise in procuring and provisioning telephony resources
  • Ordering toll-free, managing number ports, managing call routing
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Project Managers, Systems Engineers, and R&D to ensure projects are delivered on time and with high quality
  • Provide technical leadership, making design and implementation decisions
  • Participate in Project Planning, Design, and Delivery process
  • Proactively maintain system availability, reliability, and performance telephony environments
  • Drive efficiency through standardization, automation, documentation, and cross-training
  • Provide 24/7 platform support as an escalation point and a member of an on-call rotation
  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure

Number of Years of Experience: 4+


Required Skills:


  • Previous experience with TDM, and Ethernet circuit terminations.
  • Experience with Wholesale carrier ordering and operations (both dedicated and switched services)
  • Strong experience with T1 and ISDN installation and debugging
  • Familiarity with Direct carrier terminations
  • Possess basic tcp/ip networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Be able to perform effectively as part of a team in a rapidly growing, dynamic environment.
  • Strong communication skills to both technical and non-technical
  • Knowledge of DACS, MUXs, media gateway configuration (e.g. Adtran, Cisco).
  • Experience with VoIP (SIP G.711).
  • Experience working with carrier grade SBC and Media Gateways (e.g. Acme, Genband, etc).
  • Experience Processing CDR data for capacity and billing analysis.
