The NDI PMO is responsible for managing the entire product launch portfolio, including complex change initiatives like cloud transformation and M&A integration, engaging and coordinating all relevant department activities to support these programs. We are actively seeking experienced program managers with high-tech industry experience and strong Project Management methodology knowledge to help us support the growing number of initiatives in our division. The Senior Program Manager will own a segment of the portfolio and will be responsible for successful execution of projects within it.
As part of the NDI Program Management team, we are looking for a team member that brings expertise in managing complex, highly visible, cross organizational projects. In addition to driving rigor and discipline, our ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in project initiation, governance, change management, and organizational readiness. The keys to success in the role are to foster cross-team collaboration, meet defined commitments and articulate and mitigate program risk. The Senior Program Manager will lead project teams, develop and own project plans, commit to weekly project summaries, and participate in opportunities to improve overall PMO processes.
Planning & Execution:
Take ownership of program development, planning and project execution for assigned segment of the PMO portfolio. Follow project management best practices (e.g., PMBOK) while balancing the needs of projects and programs and the needs of the business. Manage timely completion of BOTH project and program deliverables. Ensure quality (fit for purpose) and accuracy of program work outcomes. Manage program risk. Manage Program budget. Identify funding opportunities and build relationships with executives. Provide quick resolution for problems and roadblocks. Develop and maintain program milestones along with detailed project schedule where required. Report program status including progress, productivity, risk and quality metrics.
Communication & Relationship Management:
Serve as a mediator among project team and executives. Manage program communication. Coordinate and manage program meetings. Develop and communicate marketing materials to promote program objectives. Strengthen relationships with executives, customers and key staff.
Provide oversight for projects under the program umbrella. Ensure that projects are aligned with program goals and objectives. Align with other or cross-functional project managers (where available). Mentor project team members. Monitor project health and step in when a project goes off-track. Provide quick resolution for project issues. Provide transparency to project teams into the program and enterprise context of their respective projects.
Manage governance at the program level. Ensure that projects are compliant with governance processes. Ensure the quick resolution of program and project issues identified by governance. Maintain high visibility at governance meetings and ensure that the program is well represented. Actively monitor governance processes and escalate issues important to the program.
Identify opportunities for synergy with other programs and initiatives. Align program and project work with organizational goals and objectives. Contribute to strategic planning activities.
Validate and verify that program deliverables are fit for purpose. Develop and communicate program level quality metrics. Optimize performance across the program and project value chain applying continual improvement best practices.
Manage integration to ensure that program components (individual projects and operational initiatives) integrate with each other as required. Ensure that the program integrates with required processes organization-wide. Promote shared approaches where they make sense.
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering or a related discipline required; Relevant MBA/MS/MA preferred.
Minimum years of work experience: 7
Required skills: Must have experience in today’s global technology industry.
Must have strong communication and business acumen skills. Able to present to large size (100+ attendees) and/or executive-level audience.
Must be willing to lead change across global teams and inspire new behaviors among stakeholders.
Must understand the Business to Business and multi-tiered distribution environment (channel partners and distribution as well as end customer selling).
Must be able to ramp up and process information in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred skills: Experience in Professional Services, consulting with external customers
Go-to-Market Project and Program experience. This includes project skills from concept to market (from business case to selling motion to sunset activities).
Experience with MSFT Project, Sharepoint, Office 365, Skype for Business, and other business productivity tools.
Experience in Product Management or Product Marketing, or with Sirius Decisions Product Management framework; alternatively, experience in Order to Cash operations or IT, interacting with Product teams.
