Job Summary

The Program Manager is responsible for planning and delivering rapidly-evolving IT solutions to Communications Service Providers. The individual is responsible for Program Management, Release Management, Capacity Management, Financial/Budget Management and Business Operations/Analytics.


Responsibility includes management of programs ranging from Service Delivery, Process & Quality Improvement, Public Cloud, Security Improvement to Cost Reduction.  The individual must manage stakeholder relationships across Nuance and be able to communicate effectively with senior management, across teams and with external business partners.




  • Establish and manage the yearly financial plan and quarterly reforecast cycle. Insure fiscal plan accuracy and effectiveness to achieve financial/cost goals.
  • Manage programs performed by a wide range of contributors, including consultants, business resources, customers and internal resources
  • Provide program level oversight and drive accountability and communications for strategic initiatives 
  • Establish and drive usage of project/program management best practices including management of risk, budget, communication, resource, schedule, and stakeholder expectations
  • Champion the implementation and adherence to the product lifecycle management process or new product introduction process; mentor those not familiar with it
  • Develop light weight processes to streamline product management operations, including new feature prioritization, post deployment issue identification as input into new releases and program level investment analysis
  • Develop and deliver regular progress reports, proposals, and stakeholder presentations, including executive level communications.
  • Build, develop, and grow business and stakeholder relationships vital to the success of the strategic plan, and continued success of the organization.




Number of Years of Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in related field.



Required Skills:


  • Expert knowledge of program and project management processes, methods and standards
  • Significant knowledge of IT Service Management best practices
  • Execution-oriented with track record managing programs to deliver on time and on budget
  • Experience delivering hosted or cloud-based services
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional/cross-organizational teams
  • Excellent leadership and strong verbal & written communication skills 
  • Strong business & financial acumen and strategic thinking to complement strong tactical execution skills
  • Self-starter with high energy to meet the needs of a demanding business and IT environment
  • Can-do attitude and a high degree of tenacity and drive
  • Telecom and/ or emerging market experience a plus, but not required


Preferred Skills: 


  • Experience delivering hosted services in private, public or hybrid cloud environments
  • PMP Certification


Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is required.
