Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist will be primarily responsible for providing support to payroll and expense departments, including ensuring the accuracy of preliminary payroll reports, time sheets and spreadsheets. Secondary responsibilities may also include the review and approval of weekly expense reports. May be assigned other duties as necessary.


Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform data entry for payroll and expense reimbursement
  • Create new employee accounts in payroll and time keeping systems
  • Approve employee’s weekly time sheets within payroll system
  • Insure timesheets and sign-in sheets are turned in appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Customer Service-Problem solve and answer questions regarding payroll and/or expenses via phone or emails on a daily basis
  • Assist with approving expense reports and adding to payroll for reimbursement
  • Fax, photocopy and scan documents as required
  • Special projects as requested


Knowledge, skills and Qualifications:

  • High school graduate
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience working in a fast paced, growing environment
  • Minimum 1-3 years Payroll Processing experience
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with MS Office products and superior PC skills
  • Healthcare industry experience a plus
  • Must possess a strong customer focused, upbeat and positive attitude
  • Extremely organized and have the ability to multi-task and to adapt quickly
  • Self-starter who works independently to resolve issues and meet critical deadlines
  • Must be able to work in an open office environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license
