    Job Summary

    Summary: 

    • We are looking for a software engineer responsible for the whole life cycle of middleware development. The duties will evolve into making active contribution to the middleware and its tools.
    • Join speech recognition middleware team developing features for a wide range of products and providing support for existing product usage. 
    • Position requires working with remote middleware and research teams as well as local speech server team members.
    • Responsibilities include software design, implementation, integration, and support. 
    • Understand and contribute to a large pre-existing code base and bring refactoring skills to the team as needed. 
    • Strong documentation and communication skills required to support on-going development with a distributed team in a fast-paced environment.

    Responsibilities: We are developing middleware to wrap Nuance new voice recognition techniques(supporting multiple languages and functionalities) devised by research teams with easy-integrated interface; As a software engineer in the middleware team, you will work with technical lead, team members, and other speech scientists to:

    • Develop speech recognition middleware features in C++ for cross platform usage (Linux, Windows) on scalable system architectures including speech recognitions servers used in cloud computing.
    • Develop and integrate speech recognition solutions for Android and embedded platforms.
    • Interact and consult with research team(s) and product groups on a frequent basis.
    • Work on new tools to improve middleware infrastructure to enhance test suite and validate results with research;
    • Engineer process improvements enforced through tools (bug tracking systems, automatic documentation).
    • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for security

    Qualifications

    Number of Years of Work Experience: 3+

     

    Required Skills:

    • Programming Languages: Expert C++ programmer, Object Oriented Design, Python, STL
    • OS environments: Windows, Linux
    • Experience with object oriented, scalable and configurable software architectures. 
    • Experience in developing libraries used in software stack for applications operating on Windows and Linux platforms. 
    • Experience in SDK development.
    • Refactoring experience.
    • Ability to grasp algorithms quickly.
    • Experienced with version control and collaboration tools, such as Git.
    • Strong at written and oral communication skills in English.
    • Willing to work collaboratively within a multi-cultural virtual team, spread over several countries and continents.

    Preferred Skills:

    • Experience developing on Android and other embedded platforms.
    • Experience with Jenkins automation.
    • Experience developing with JAVA.
    • Background in speech recognition technology or language technologies, desired but not required.

    Education: Master Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
