    Job Summary

    Senior Director, Marketing -  Automotive Division

     

    THE POSITION

    Reporting to the SVP of Product Strategy for the Automotive Division, the Sr. Director of Marketing has overall responsibility for positioning Nuance Automotive in the industry and developing a powerful and creative marketing strategy and vision. He / She oversees all global inbound and outbound marketing activities for Nuance’s Automotive business and manages the global automotive marketing team and budget.  Together with a team of experienced marketing experts, she/he runs all product and solution marketing, demand generation, customer marketing, field marketing, and sets direction for PR and Industry Relations. The global marketing team is focused on delivering brand awareness, pipeline growth and sales enablement. 

     

    As the Sr. Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for creating innovative marketing strategies that will build the Nuance Automotive brand, leading to increased awareness, revenue, relevance and respect among our target audience.  This position works in coordination with the Automotive leadership team to formulate the marketing strategies and then owns the implementation of those strategies.  

     

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Define marketing strategies to support the Division’s overall strategies and objectives.
    • Drive daily execution and enhancement of the Division’s overall marketing strategy; Managing a global marketing budget and team of marketing specialists and field marketing managers, overseeing all marketing activities across the full marketing mix, and collaborating with all corporate marketing functions.
    • Continue to develop and strengthen the Division’s unique and compelling voice to build brand awareness, relevance, reputation and esteem among target audiences.
    • Effectively tells the Nuance Automotive innovation story as speaker at conferences and as spokesperson towards media.
    • Lead the creation/production of inspiring design, content and campaigns that builds the brand.
    • Rally stakeholders around the brand; Mastermind and execute innovative stakeholder communications strategies to educate and inform current supporters about activities and accomplishments.
    • Set KPI’s for marketing activities and measure the success of marketing and creative campaigns.
    • Assess new market opportunities and create marketing strategies to develop new market segments
    • Participates in research to look for new product ideas and ways to grow business.
    • Communicates with industry experts and leverages their knowledge for the company’s benefit.
    • Keeps up to date with industry and technological changes that impact the business.
    • Oversight of the Auto Division website and information provided on the site to serve customers as well as staff.
    • Selects marketing agency partners and reviewing their activities.
    • Oversees design and production of visual marketing tools.
    • Oversees the Division’s media relations including social media and all methods of advertising.
    • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing.

    THE PERSON

    We are seeking an experienced marketing executive able to lead and drive marketing and branding efforts to increase the Automotive Division and the company’s aggressive awareness and growth targets.  This is a critical role for the Division and company at a critical time in our growth.

     

    Our ideal candidate possesses tremendous communication and leadership skills, with proven success in traditional and innovative campaigns across the broad spectrum of today’s marketing channels. We are looking for a ground-breaking leader with strategic, creative and financial acumen, a strong business intellect to take our organization to the next level and excellent communication skills to represent Nuance Automotive towards customers, media and the industry.

     

    As a senior-level marketing professional, the Sr. Director of Marketing, Automotive must be both analytical and creative and possess extensive knowledge in a variety of disciplines, with the ability to link market intelligence and both customer and competitive analysis to inform business strategies. The right candidate should be able to flow back and forth between management and hands on operation, while also being quantitative and knowing that marketing is accountable. The candidate needs to believe in the idea of test, measure, and optimization.

     

    IDEAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

    • 10 years of well-rounded marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on marketing expansion and identifying emerging market trends.
    • 3-5 years of leadership experience with the ability to motivate and provide professional development to a team. A hands-on collaborative style of working is a must!
    • A mix of start-up and large, global company experience is preferred.
    • Experience in the following domains: B2B marketing, Automotive Technology (ideally connected vehicle), and technology marketing.
    • Experience developing high level marketing and brand strategy in line with the strategic vision of the organization.
    • Ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategies to achieve company objectives.
    • A visionary with a deep understanding of traditional and innovative marketing strategies and a proven track record of creating impactful campaigns and initiatives that will drive and increase revenue.
    • An executive who understands the importance of aligning the organization internally around the brand and marketing objectives.
    • Executes expert business planning with strong bias to action. Pioneer and implement measurable strategies that will drive hard revenue goals and increase awareness at the regional and global levels.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant field; Advanced degree will be a plus
