    Job Summary

    We have an immediate need for a Contract Financial Analyst.  At Nuance we are changing the world with our Artificial Intelligence and Voice Recognition software/products. Maybe you heard of a few of our products. Just to name a few, Dragon, PowerShare, iScribes, Alexa, Emma, Siri, Dragon, Swipe….. the list goes on.

     

    Summary:

     

    The Business Financial Analyst (BFA) will serve as the Healthcare Finance lead constructing P&Ls/analysis for pending deals, valuing deals (net new and renewal booking, plus fair values), and reconciling/reporting bookings in the close process.  Responsibilities include other analysis such as revenue realization and forecasting.

     

    Responsibilities:

           

    • Coordinate across stakeholders (Sales/Legal/TRA/Finance/OM/PA)
    • Coordination and deal support
    • Contribute to approval requests (velocity, deal discount). Anticipate questions and get answers from appropriate sources.
    • Document processes and create/update flowcharts among multiple functions.
    • Work with Sales Finance and IT on process efficiency and other workflow issues.

      Contract Financial Analysis

    • Prepare financials by performing ROI / financial analysis of the deal
    • Analyze the financial output of the deal (p&l analysis, margin impact, accretive or dilutive to the business)
    • Modify valuation tools as necessary to meet demands of deal complexity
    • Contribute Financial Analysis for deals that require the Nuance Velocity process (Executive Leadership Approval)

            Contract Valuation and Bookings

    • Adhere to the Nuance Bookings Policy and enforce the Booking Valuation Principles
    • Leverage the bookings classification policies to identify Net New versus Renewal bookings
    • Navigate multiple Nuance systems to investigate existing customer revenue and determine proper bookings classification by line of business / product family.
    • Detailed and Summary level accurate reporting of bookings monthly.
    • Follow-through on bookings to revenue realization analysis for 8 quarters post-close. Incorporate lessons learned into proposed process/policy changes.
    • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing

     

    Education:

    • Undergraduate degree in business required. BS Finance / Accounting or related major.

     

    Minimum years of work experience:

    • 2-4 years

     

    Required skills:

    • Business and financial planning related experience
    • Strong analytical, financial modeling, business process and problem-solving skills.
    • Must be very proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
    • Self-directed, self-motivated and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding
    • Ability to manage concurrent assignments and meet deadlines
    • Must be able to listen and interpret the requirements of internal clients, plan accordingly and meet or exceed expectations
    • Financial Analyst should have the ability to effectively interact will all levels of the organization as well as the ability to extract large quantities of data and manipulate in order to deliver information and insights to key executive decision makers
    • Comfortable wearing multiple hats, ranging from leading finance discussions to working with data to provide thoughtful analysis
    • Experience working with sales organization a plus
    • Strong written, presentation and verbal skills. Powerpoint experience a plus.

     

    Preferred skills:

    • Oracle and/or SFDC experience.
    • Prior experience as a finance business partner preferably in a software or services company, or Healthcare.
