    Job Summary

    Position summary:

     

    The Principal Server Developer/ Software Engineer will have architecture and design experience with substantial knowledge of cloud computing (Azure, AWS) including deployment and monitoring.

    Hands-on development of new services and apps combined with evaluating and introducing new technology to the team will be the primary

    focus of the job. The successful candidate will drive the migration of Nuance professional speech products from desktop to cloud. 

    The Cloud and Mobile Architect leads a team a developers creating mobile applications, cloud services and web apps.

     

    Principal Duties:

    • Create highly availability, high scale cloud service architectures served by REST APIs for mobile and browser usage
    • Build out automated monitoring to ensure high availability of speech application services
    • Design and develop web applications in Azure
    • Coordinate deployments with dedicated DevOps teams for efficient product rollout
    • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members locally and off-shore

    Required skills:

    • Extensive experience with C#, .NET/ WPF and ASP.NET

    • 5+ years of Enterprise server development across all phases of SDLC

    • Extensive experience developing, deploying, and monitoring products in the Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)

    • Experience creating high availability, high scale cloud service architectures served by REST APIs for mobile and browser usage

    • Experience coordinating deployments with dedicated SRE teams for efficient product rollout (Azure preferred)

    • Educate team on automated test methods for streamlined releases.

    • Experience with SQL Server or equivalent

    • Designed and developed a variety of client-side web applications

    • Secure Software Development Methodologies, especially in-depth knowledge of OWASP vulnerabilities

    • Strong drive to modernize and improve engineering efficiency and reduce deployment times.

    • Experience working with distributed teams (locally and off-shore) to provide technical guidance and leadership.

     

    Education: BS in computer science or related discipline; MS preferred

     

    Minimum years of work experience: 10

     

    Preferred skills:

    • Knowledge of Azure web app development with .NET Core

    • Familiarity with Application Insights

    • Defining and implementing CI/CD pipelines

    • Docker, Kubernetes, and other container technologies

    • Microservice design patterns

    • Knowledge of Agile SCRUM, Git and Atlassian Toolset

    • Scripting skills with Python, Perl or similar

    • Experience with mobile development (iOS or Android)
