    Job Summary

    Summary:

    The Senior Repair Specialist receives both internal and external customer equipment for repair and refurbishment. They will accomplish this using established written procedures combined with hands on skills developed through in house training. This equipment includes all legacy Dictaphone products still being serviced along with Nuance PowerMics and Desktop PC systems.  They are tasked with initial inspection, testing, problem identification, disassembly, parts replacement, all cosmetic, mechanical, and electronic repairs or adjustments, and reassembly of the unit, accessory, or subassembly. Computer literacy and familiarity with Windows operating systems is required. They are responsible for training junior personnel and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

     

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Complete tests and repair requirements as assigned.
    • Performs high quality repairs to prevent customer product returns.
    • Identifies problem areas through standard troubleshooting procedures.
    • Performs quality soldering operations for the removal and replacement of micro miniature electronic components and semiconductors.
    • Identifies issues with desktop PC systems, isolate to the component level, and repair or replace as necessary.
    • Perform reimaging procedures for all repaired PC systems and wipe drives on all scraped units.
    • Perform Quality Control testing on a percentage of all new PowerMics received at the Melbourne Distribution Center and documents the results.
    • Reads, comprehends and researches technical information as required.
    • Completes computer entries in SalesForce to document repairs, parts usage, and turnaround time for use in department metrics.
    • Must have good written and oral communication skills required to resolve customer service issues.

    Qualifications

     

    Education and/or Experience:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Minimum one year of experience and/or training in electronics troubleshooting and soldering
    • CET certification a plus

    Skills & Abilities Required:

    • Good working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office 365, and SalesForce Lightning.
    • Practical problem-solving skills and strong troubleshooting skills a must.
    • Excellent documentation and communication skills.
    • Able to work well with other people in a team-oriented environment.
    • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
