    Job Summary

    Summary:

    Reports to Healthcare Research and Development Senior Content Manager. Provides management and subject matter expertise to develop and evaluate evidenced based Artificial Intelligence (AI) clinical software products.

     

    Principal duties and responsibilities:

    • Manages the day-to day operation of the Clinical Language Analyst (CLA) team responsible for annotating healthcare documents with clinical labels incorporated into datasets for machine learning and clinical natural language processing models.
    • Provides training and consultation for team members, software developers, physicians and product managers.
    • Actively participates and contributes to improvement in clinical software product features, design and evaluation
    • Maintains a strong background in APR-DRG's, MS-DRG's, ICD-10 codes, coding guidelines and Coding Clinics as well as Medicare and other government billing specifications.

    Knowledge, skills and qualifications

     

    Education:

    • Registered Nurse licensure in the US State residency.
    • Bachelor’s degree in nursing
    • CCDS (Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist or CDIP (Clinical Documentation Improvement Practitioner) certification

    Minimum years of work experience: 5+

    • 3 years’ Inpatient bedside nursing
    • 2 years’ experience as a Nuance Trained Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist.
    • 2 years’ experience managing people in direct healthcare environments.

    Required skills:

    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with cross functional teams of clinicians, product managers, interface designers, consultants, delivery staff, and engineers as well as clients.
    • Demonstrated high level of manager expertise, balancing people needs with deliverables
    • Proven people development skills with ability to assist direct reports in defining their career paths and identify strategies to obtain the necessary experience and skills to move their careers forward.
    • Superior analytical abilities: ability to draw insight from findings and understand the root cause of product quality issues and communicate findings with diplomacy and tact.
    • Strong broad expertise in training and presentations to a variety of clinical and technical audiences.
    • Knowledge of APR-DRG's, MS-DRG's, ICD-10 codes, HCCs.
    • Comfortable with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
    • Experience as leader or member of inter-departmental team with action plans and deliverables.

    Preferred Skills and Education

    • Master’s Degree in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner
