    The Audio & Test Engineering Intern will support Automotive Professional Services project teams in the integration and delivery of Nuance state-of-the-art audio, speech recognition, and text-to-speech products on embedded platforms for major automotive companies. You will be working closely with our customers’ integration teams to support successful deployment of Nuance technologies.


    As an Audio & Test Engineering Intern, you will be support the Nuance validation engineers in the execution of test plans and development of test automation for multiple customer programs. You will also support our audio engineers in the tuning and validation of Bluetooth enabled hands-free technology.


    Representative tasks will include:

    • Support for subjective and objective (ITU-T) tuning and testing of in-vehicle hands-free audio systems
    • Execution of manual & automated tests to verify functionality and performance of speech dialog systems on customer supplied embedded systems.

    • Execution of test plans using customer supplied embedded hardware and software.

    • Adaptation of existing scripts to specific customer platforms in support of test automation.

    • Analysis of test results, creation of test reports, and documentation of software defects.



    Required Skills:

    • Number of Years of Work Experience: 0-2
    • Solid script development skills (Perl, Python)
    • Exposure to basic audio and signal processing concepts
    • Ability to configure electronic hardware components
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
    • Positive "can-do" attitude, well organized, team player focusing on achieving results   

    Preferred Skills:

    • Knowledge of 1 or more European or Asian languages
    • Exposure to test and validation methodologies
    • Exposure to  embedded hardware platforms, embedded operating systems (Windows CE, Linux, or QNX OS)


    • Enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related Technical Degree
